The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) recently issued the Migrant e-Registration Guidelines (the Guidelines) pursuant to its powers under the provisions of the Immigration Act 2015 and the Immigration Regulation 2017.
In this article our associate, Rebecca Ebokpo, examines the provisions of the Guidelines and the implications of failure to abide by same. She concludes by recommending that the NIS ensure that it puts the right framework in place to guarantee a smooth and professional e-registration exercise.
