International Trade Practice

ǼLEX’s International Trade Practice Group was created to satisfy the needs of clients involved in international and regional trade. Our firm has been involved in trade issues on a multi country basis and brings with it, experience garnered in the last four decades. Our investment practice covers both FDI and cross-border vestiges of trade and investment practice in a number of countries on the continent.

We have knowledge and understanding of regional and continental arrangements which will underpin the implementation of AfCFTA.

We are currently assisting the National Action Committee of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to prepare its roll out plan for the AfCFTA.

We are simultaneously in working relationships with the Federal Ministry of Trade and Industry and; the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations, and we are keenly awaiting the commencement of business at the AfCFTA Secretariat in Ghana.

These monitoring and assistance activities are designed to add value to the work of these institutions, having regard to the clear shortage of capacity, to handle the enormous tasks inherent in preparations for take-off.  By volunteering to play such roles, we have become capable of assisting clients in the sectors likely to be impacted by the framework, on where their best interests lie.

Our services include providing adequate legal advisory services to ensure our clients overcome trade barriers and conduct their businesses under the best conditions.
