The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (“NECA”) on 25 April 2020, issued circular addressing Employment Contracts and salary obligations to employees during the COVID-19 lockdown.
According to NECA, employers’ obligations to pay wages to its staff is a function of contracts detailed in letters of appointment and other terms encapsulated in the general conditions of service/ employee handbook which forms an integral part of the contract as referenced on the Letter of Employment.
